Unmarked (Buckbee) 11" Spun Over Openback

  • Very Good Condition
  • Year: 1900
  • Includes Soft Shell Case

A simple 11" open back, that is a nice player; unmarked but attributed to Buckbee. This is would make a fine frailer, the neck is nice and chunky with a V profile and large heel. The neck is built out of a nice piece of mahogany with a slight gloss finish which exposes the woods natural flame; orignal geared friction tuners function fairly well with original ivoroid buttons. Banjo plays well with nice action, and a small shim. Not too decorated, aside from basic celluloid inlay work that is relatively crude. Spun over rim 28 brackets; hardware matches; nickel plating shows mild pitting. It is currently setup with a Waverly Fiberskyn head, a low bridge, and a Vega style armrest. Comes with a basic chipboard case.
