A presentation-grade Neapolitan style mandolin by Italian master Umberto Ceccherini of Naples, that was sold by Alban Voigt & Co., London. In excellent state of preservation and playability it features fluted rosewood ribs, large rosewood skirt bordered in satin wood and inlaid in ivory. The neck is also inlaid with an ivory vine, the tuning plate is highly engraved, and the top/pickguard/tailpiece are of tortoiseshell construction and inlaid in mother-of-pearl. The nut is made of silver and is scalloped and the bridge is of ebony construction (inlaid with silver and pearl).
