Thornburg 13-5/8" Grain Measure

This is a large pot fretless banjo constructed by Bob Thornburg that employs a vintage grain measure as a rim assembly. The oak rim measures about 13-5/8" in diameter and is about 4" deep; bent/notched mahogany strips have been attached to the top edge of the rim forming a tonering; tack mounted skin head. The fretless mahogany neck has a scale length of about 28", two piece dowel stick, frailing scoop. Setup with friction pegs, gut strings.
