A mighty fine 16" archtop suitable to wear the name "Stromberg" at a very reasonable price. Sometime in the early 2000's the iconic Stromberg name was purchased by WD, a well known guitar parts supplier. For a short period of time, the company was building, likely in Korea at the Samick factory, batches of newly branded Stromberg guitars. This Montreux model features a 16" body, with a classic Gibson 24.75" scale length. Amber finish with block inlay and a nice peg head overlay, this guitar will turn heads for some vintage purists. Impressive Kent Armstrong pickups have a nice medium low output perfectly suitable for any instance you might find suitable for an electrified L-5. This example comes to us in great condition with only mild play wear from the last 15 or so years. The frets are in good shape, and the neck plays quick with low action that currently measures 5/64" in height at the twelfth fret on the sixth string, and 4/64" on the first. The gold hardware and some of the screws have oxidized from much of its life being in a case, resulting in the gold finish on the pickups being worn down to a chrome, and some screw heads being pretty worn. All in all, its a very suitable guitar for any Jazzer on a budget, or an advanced player looking for a pretty nice beater. Comes with the original hardshell case.
