Signed on the neck block 8/21/1978 by R. L. Givens, we're delighted to have this rare example of one of Bob Givens flat top guitars. This example sports the storied inlay pattern that was allegedly drawn by David Lindley, a decade earlier at Givens' shop during a New Year's Eve party; an amazing guitar, with a special Givens sound, incredibly dynamic and sweet. The dreadnought sized body features finely grained mahogany back and sides, with an Englemann spruce top that is amazingly resonant; fully bound in ivoroid with matching rosette; equipped with squared off tortoise pickguard and rosewood belly bridge; lots of finish checking, dings, scrapes on the body...clearly this guitar was played. The mahogany neck has a thin profile w/ 1-11/16 width at nut, with very little taper; ebony fingerboard with snowflake inlay pattern, and rosewood peghead overlay with aforementioned psychedelic "Lindley" pattern; virtually all finish worn off back of neck, with roughness around peghead as well; equipped with Grover Rotomatic tuners.
