Ted McCarty had his hand in some of the most legendary designs in electric guitar history, including the original humbucking pickup. McCarty began mentoring Paul Smith, together debuting the PRS McCarty in the 1990's. The model has become a flagship for the brand, and has been re-released a number of times with updated specs. This limited edition MCarty 594 single cut semi-hollow represents a recent incarnation of that model, complete with updated pickups the "Pattern Vintage" neck profile, and vintage inspired electronics - similar to that of the ones McCarty helped pioneer.
This guitar absolutely delivers, with rich and vintage inspired tones. The PAF modeled 58/15 "Low Turn" pickups have an accurate warm & clear sound - complete with a 4 knob (two volume, two tone) setup, complete with push pull pots, for easy coil tapping. It's easy to play with low action and its comfortable pattern vintage neck profile. The profile is a bit thicker, measuring in at .87" thick at the first position, tapering up to just under 1" at the twelfth fret. The scale length has been specialized on this model to a shorter 24.594" - a great feel for any lead players, thats easy to get used to.
This guitar comes to us in fantastic condition having been well maintained from the original owner. The 10-top looks great with the Black Gold burst finish.
