Johnny Hiland is a true modern guitar hero. His fierce chicken pickin' elevated his status as a legend since the early 2000's and its no surprise he would be offered a signature model from the famed Paul Reed Smith. This country double cut Custom 24 is familiar for any fan of PRS, and belongs to be showcased by the proper collector, player, or fan of Hiland. A gorgeous flame maple top, bolt-on neck design with maple fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets, and speedy low action make this a truly nice instrument. Cosmetically this example is in great condition, having been owned by a collector. The back panel on this has actually been signed "Tim, she's a good one! - Johnny Hiland", a nice touch. The book matched stained tiger maple has a stunning flame, well complimented by the maple binding, with virtually no wear present. The guitar is very well set up with low action that measures about 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret. The bolt on neck facilitates any future shim adjustments if needed, but this guitar in its current condition is a great player. The frets are smooth with no flat spots present. The thin finish has chipped visibly at the 5th and 10th frets, hardly noticeable and not detrimental to its playability. It has a slim taper neck that measures .80" thick at the first position, and .87" at the twelfth. It has a 1 21/32" nut width and a 25" scale. Johnny Hiland signature pickups have a nice low output, neck 4.9k bridge 8k. Comes with the original paperwork, and the signed back plate separate in the case. Weighs 8.2 lbs.
