Morrison 12" Openback

  • Very Good + Condition
  • Year: circa 1890s
  • No Case

Another fine example of a Morrison stamped banjo (made in NY); 12" spun-over rim assembly with unusual "ball-bearing-esque" tonering (beads sit behind the brass hoop and interact with rim's edge), 27.5" scale mahogany neck with ebony fretboard, lovely pearlwork featuring stars and crescent moons. Great for frailers; some forward relief with some fretwear and pitting. Tailpiece appears original; setup with a 1/2" bridge.
