This is an exquisite custom order Neapolitan style mandolin from the C. F. Martin company. It has the letters G. J. E. M. inlayed in the peghead. The tuners are "Handel" style with inlayed buttons. There are 42 Rosewood ribs fluted and joined with Ivory. The bridge is Ivory. The pick guard is symmetrical under the strings with ornamental inlay. The top, fingerboard and the sides are bound in Ivory. Abalone trim borders the top and the fingerboard and peghead are delicately inlaid with mother of pearl. The metal parts are profusely engraved. This is a spectacular instrument in very fine condition currently set up with Calace strings.
