The "Loar" name comes from a long standing heritage through Gibson's from Lloyd Loar - the famed builder of some fine Mandolins during Gibson's hay-day. In order to pay respects to one of the worlds most acclaimed builders, newly branded Loar instruments have set their intentions to make high quality instruments at a fraction of the cost, which the LM-520 does beautifully. Perfect for a beginner or an advancing player looking for a budget F style instrument, the 520 features a solid, carved spruce top, with solid Maple back & sides. It has volume and good chop for any bluegrass player. A bound neck with a rosewood fingerboard (and a truss rod) make this a playable instrument ready for years of music making. A non adjustable bridge present. This example comes to us used, but not abused, with only light surface scratches present in the finish. Mild fret wear is present but no worry for some years to come. Truly a great way to save. This instrument comes with a nice poly foam case!
