Kay Kraft Style B Jumbo "Nick Lucas"

  • Excellent + Condition
  • Year: circa 1930s
  • Includes Hard Shell Case

A wonderful example of the highly regarded Nick Lucas design. Here we have a Kay Kraft Style B Jumbo circa 1930, that offers quite the cool factor. A unique 4 3/4" depth provides a surprising amount of volume as well as a general center of tone similar to the old Gibson design - woody, low, and certainly not overly boomy (by way of the 14.5" lower bout). 1 13/16" nut width complimented by a shallower neck profile feels very comfortable for finger style, or anyone used to a 1.75". Beautiful flamed Maple back & sides with mild and expected wear for a 90 year old instrument. Grover banjo tuners work as they should. Mild crack underneath pick guard - properly cleated. A second bridge plate has been installed on top of the original, for protection, and still maintains clarity and volume. Frets are small in size, but are in excellent shape with, little wear. Included in sale is a newer hardshell case
