Built of premium Hawaiian Koa, this Kanile'a K-1 Tenor is simply one of the most astounding ukes we've had here. Opening the case and seeing the vivid flame in this koa is truly incredible. Dating to April 2011, this example comes to us in excellent condition, with no visible wear, having been previously owned by a collector who well maintained it. Stunning construction, light weight tone woods and bracing yields a substantial amount of volume and tone similar only to a vintage uke. The thin gloss finish is in excellent shape with no wear. A straight neck with no wear, meets the body at the 14th fret. Abalone inlay on a dark rosewood fingerboard. Open gear Grover tuners tune up and function just as they should. Included in this sale is an equally incredible Ameritage hardshell case. In like new condition, the canvas covered case has elegant maroon leather piping and gold hardware. Inside, the case is in great shape with red interior and hygrometer. These cases alone list for $1000.
