Extremely rare mandocello from John E. Dallas' (Strand Road, London) line of mandolin family instruments. This example is remarkably original, and includes the original pickguard, armrest, tailpiece, and even the hard case. The large tear dropped shape body features a multi-bound spruce top w/ straight grain, w/ mahogany back and sides; equipped with a pickup; unusual side cuts near treble edge on both sides present; later rosewood bridge. The 27.5" scale length maple neck has a 1-7/16" wide nut width; later tuners; the fingerboard appears to be new.
