Rarely seen used banjo from maker James Hartel, who is known for his fine historically accurate reproductions of significant 19th century banjos. We are excited to offer this faithful recreation of a banjo built by Henry Stichter ca. 1848, that was painstakingly modeled after an extant banjo from the collection of Jim Bollman. The 14" diameter rim is single ply bent oak, with period hardware, and features a gorgeous hand-carved rosewood tailpiece and replica handmade hardware. The angular curly maple neck was built with a 31" scale length, with the long peghead shape, and triangular leather accent piece. In great condition, just some small dings and scratches.
