Wonderfully built and elegantly designed banjo from J. L. "Lee" Sproull, Birmingham, AL. The workmanship is truly top notch and we are thrilled to see one this banjo. Using 12" for the diameter, the rim assembly utilizes stained curly maple, with a rosewood cap tonering, and raw brass hardware. The exterior of the pot is dark stained, with a blonde interior/dowel stick. Traditional three piece maple neck with "Dobson" shaped heel, 25.5" scale length ebony fingerboard with frailing scoop, squared angular "Dobson" peghead with ebony overlay/reverse. Equipped with a John Balch skin head and two band geared tuners in raw brass housing. There is some light cosmetic wear present, but in excellent original condition.
