Have you heard the word about the hurdy gurd? It's quite absurd, I'm sure you've heard. It whizzed and whirred cooing louder than a bird. This is the tale of the hurdy gurd. Here we have a nicely made Hurdy Gurdy from Greenwich Village luthier, J. D. Montgomery. Built in 1978 this Hurdy Gurdy features a cedar sound board, nine piece curly maple back, and some ornate rosewood vaneer covers with vine inlays. Nice classical peghead. All of the keys are functional. Nice brass crank. Some top cracks on the cedar sound board.
