Handbuilt by California luthier Ed Hume, this elegant little archtop puts out quite a bit of sound! A carved Sitka Spruce top with an always classy black lacquer finish, is married to a very fine Walnut back and sides complete with binding. The flower pot inlaid, F Holed arch top has a classic look and a nice big 12" lower bout - again putting out a surprising amount of warm tone suitable for any type of traditional folk music. It features an Allen tailpiece complete with an pickup (a nifty little trap door is present along its treble side lower bout). This instrument comes to us in great shape with hardly any cosmetic or play wear present. A slight binding separation is present at the end of the fingerboard extension. It is well designed and has an 18" scale length & 1 11/32" nut width. Its neck is chunky which will appeal to certain vintage Gibson enthusiasts, with a hefty profile that measures .94" thick at the first position and about 1.35" at the twelfth. The frets are very clean with hardly any play wear present. The action is medium height currently measuring about 7/64" in height at the twelfth fret. The bridge might require to be taken down which will be a decision left to its next owner, having been maxed out at its thumb screws. Comes with a hardshell case.
