Simply put, an inexpensive archtop is a hard thing to find - let alone a fairly good one. That said - we are pretty happy with this reasonably priced source of inspiration built by Harmony - Marvel. With a cool Gibson inspired burst look and painted on flame in its laminate back, a decorated peg head overlay, this is a fairly good looking guitar, that just got fairly beaten up in its past.
I call it a source of inspiration, because I'm fairly sure this guitar has some songs in it. With its repaired top cracks, nicks, bumps & bruises, this guitar surely has some stories - and it's ready for a new career, ready for some new songs or at least some proper enjoyment. New Grover tuners, a replaced bridge, original hanger tailpiece, the guts are pretty good and solid here, and it makes a nice snappy archtop with some really nice volume, bass response, and even nice playable low action - a perfect for a singer songwriter looking for something unique and different. The neck is hefty, with a pointed V profile, like the true guitar from the 50's that it is. A 25.5" scale length, a 1.75" nut width.
