Second iteration of Gibson's Style 4 banjo, in banjo-mandolin form, pre-ball bearing tonering, with hollowed "megaphonic" style/Kraske-esque rim assembly. The rim measures 10.5" in diameter, with wooden "bead" on exterior, tube-type flange; yellow oval label present and FON stamp on rim; equipped with small ivoroid pickguard; later tailpiece and bridge; no trapdoor. The maple neck has a pointed extended fingerboard, with small original frets, and attractive fully bound "wavy" peghead. There is some cosmetic wear, and some small separations on the back of the rim cap. Includes original hard case.
