Did you know that 1998 was 25 years ago? Google was founded in '98 (as was Jet Blue airways), Frank Sinatra passed away, and a new Panasonic camcorder cost about $500. This Gibson LPB-2 bass guitar was also built, and was a very popular instrument for the duration of its run, due to the stripped down vibe present here. The two-piece maple cap has a sunburst top, with heavy duty gold plated bridge, EMG active pickups, and four knobs. The long scale mahogany neck has an ebony fingerboard with fancy crown pearl inlays, and is equipped with upgraded Gotoh gold plated tuner geared tuners. This bad-boy suffered a headstock crack during a fabled, especially rowdy, set at the Penny Arcade in 2006, and shows other cosmetic dings, scuffs, scratches, scrapes, and striations present throughout. Sounds great too
