Breathing taking early post-war period Gibson L-5, non-cutaway, in rare blonde finish. The tone is a universe of its own, incredible dynamic range, vast low end, cutting has it all. The 17" deeply carved body was made using highly flamed maple, with wide grained spruce on top; fully bound, including f holes; beautiful gold-plated tailpiece w/ silver insert, adjustable rosewood bridge, bound pickguard. The three piece maple neck has a fully bound elevated ebony fingerboard that terminates at a point, large pearl block inlay, 1-11/16" nut width; large multibound peghead w/ large post-war Gibson slant script inlaid in pearl in addition to flower pot; truss rod fully functional as well as bridge...guitar plays very well. Cosmetically, there are no cracks or repairs that we note, lots of checking, and some light light surface scratches are present; this instrument was treasured and well cared for.
