From the Bass-end of the mandolin orchestra, this is the stuff that dreams are made of.....a Gibson K-2 mandocello dating from 1920 perfectly paired with its original purple-lined hardcase with all the proper handles & hinges. A lush red sunburst immediately catches the eyes of any on-looker, combined with an equally nice stained red maple back and sides. 25" scale mahogany neck with soft "V" profile, ebony fingerboard with original frets/dot inlays, "The Gibson" slanted/script inlay present on peghead overlay. Original hardware is present including engraved 4-per-plate geared tuners, and tailpiece, and original pickguard with clasp intact. Some top sinkage present, binding shrinkage on bottom, several well-repaired top cracks on treble side (small cleats present), newer nut, fingerboard extension broken and reglued at last two frets.
