Gibson A-Jr

  • Very Good Condition
  • Year: 1924
  • Serial #: 77006

Here we have a beautifully aged, players A-Jr. from the coveted Loar era of Gibson. This 1924 A-Jr features a stunning, well aged deep reddish brown finish, typical of these "lower" level Gibson instruments, which has aged very nicely with the wide grained spruce, presumably Adirondack. The Maple back features a stunning burl not often seen in mandolins at this level. A great player, this instrument shows mild fret wear and a comfortable thinner neck profile. There is a crack present in the back towards the heel that does not go all the way through. Lots of mid range chop, this instrument is ready to begin it's next career in the studio and on stage. 1 1/16" nut width, 14" scale, presumably replaced period correct tailpiece. FON 11185A.
