Early example from George Clifton Dobson with 12 flush frets, with plain maker stamp on side of large heel. A fantastic early example marked G. C. Dobson, known more as a banjo teacher and performer; a wonderful player with deep, sonorous tone. 11" diameter oak rim with rosewood veneer; bowtie shaped shoes wth repro ebony tailpiece. All mahogany neck, 25-1/4" scale, bulbous profile, square peghead shape with good break angle; some pitting on board. Equipped with friction pegs, setup with Nylgut strings.
