1962...a gallon gasoline cost $.28, John Glenn became the first American to orbit planet Earth, and John Bernunzio was a freshman at McQuaid Jesuit Prep. where tuition was $300 (he worked the entire previous summer to save up before he hit the books). We are pleased to present an iconic guitar from the golden age of Fender, a completely correct 1962 three-color sunburst Fender Stratocaster and matching 1962 Fender Princeton directly from the family of the guitar's original owner (see separate listing for amplifier). Notable features include a slab rosewood fingerboard and two number sequence patent sticker on peghead. Exceptional condition; age expected dings and scratches on body, light wear on treble side of back of neck, light pitting on original frets in cowboy chord positions. Original brown hard shell case provided in sale with tremolo arm, bridge cover, and hang tag.
