Fiesta Red and Fender truly go hand in hand. This 50's hot rod inspired Strat needs a new home, maybe one with a nice spring reverb tank and a surf board... I digress. Here we have a very nice '59 NOS (New Old Stock) Stratocaster reissue from 2011. Interestingly, this guitar is stamped as a relic underneath its pickguard and in its neck pocket, but while in the shop, a decision must have been made to keep it as a NOS. Cosmetically, this guitar is in great shape having had only one previous owner who enjoyed it relatively sparingly. The body is cosmetically great with its iconic lacquer finish, and all matching gold hardware throughout. The neck shows only very mild fret wear and some wear in its amber lacquer. Sonically, this guitar has the classic 50's tone we can associate with early Fender. Buddy Holly would enjoy this, and any surf enthusiast would feel right at home with the Custom Shop Fat 50's pickups. The pickup outputs measure 5.9k in the Neck, 5.9k in the Middle, and 6.3k in the bridge. It is fitted with a 5-way switch. Sept 7th 2011 is stamped on the underside of the neck heel, which accurately matches all of this guitars paperwork. The neck is incredibly comfortable, measuring .85" thick at the first position and 1" at the twelfth. It has a unique Oval C profile that feels similar to a very very mild soft V. The maple fingerboard is in great shape, but there are a few spots where lacquer has chipped, nothing problematic, just the beginning of some real relic'ing. It has an expected 1 5/8" Nut width, with a 9.5 radius. 7.5 lbs. Includes the original G&G brown tolex Fender hardshell case. Includes COA, strap, CS sticker, hang tags, registration card, and owners manual (no shop traveller)
