Wonderful example of a Vega Style R 17 fret tenor banjo, which employs the famous scalloped tonering, as seen on the company's Whyte Laydie and Electric banjos. The 11-13/16" rim assembly is all original, and was made using a maple rim w/ bracket band, and features dark tortoise binding on the internal and exterior edges; includes original Waverly tailpiece and pie plate resonator; replaced neck adjustment hardware. The three piece maple neck is very clean and has a comfortable V profile; upgraded with geared tuners; ebony fingerboard w/ 21" scale, recently dressed original thin frets, 1-1/8" wide nut; small reglued chunk on back of peghead.
