From the golden era of the electric Archtop, we are pleased to feature this fine Epiphone Zephyr DeLuxe Regent - sporting the not so common single pickup. "Zephyr" refers to the electric model, "Deluxe Regent" being the cutaway with blonde finish - the one pickup version was simply an offered variation. The guitar looks and sounds excellent as we expected - smooth but with a nice choppy attack that is versatile for any classic jazz playing. Structurally this guitar is in very good condition with mostly cosmetic imperfections from its age. It has nicks throughout, but overall the finish really solid. The binding is in tact with the body, but there is a hair of shrinkage. Typical checking in the pegged overlay. The tailpiece had been replaced with an older gold frequensator, but the original is included in the sale. Evidence of overspray is present, mostly around the bass side F hole. The neck is very straight overall, but the guitar is likely in need of a neck reset in its future. The thumb screws are maxed on the bridge, and there is a slight separation at the heel. The action at the twelfth fret measures 8/64" in height. Original frets show only very very mild wear. It has a 1 3/4" nut width. A nice original pickup sounds excellent and has an output of Original E stamped tuners present. Comes with the original hard shell case with orange interior with "E" stamp. A great example for a collector, and certainly a great guitar for the right player.
