From the family of the original owner, this is an original, unmodified, Epiphone De Luxe 16" acoustic archtop guitar built with the model's second iteration of specifications which was available from 1934 (model introduced in '31), until the model went on to bigger and better things as it became the 17" wide Super De Luxe in late '35. The body is fully bound with rope-pattern purfling on the top, and was made with curly maple on the back and sides, with spruce on top; original white plastic pickguard w/ black binding, adjustable rosewood bridge, and gold plated trapeze tailpiece; binding shrinkage present on back at waist, and bottom edge; lots of surface cosmetic wear, but no cracks or repairs to speak of. The five piece maple neck has the smaller "offset peak" Masterbilt peghead shape, script pearl logo, with vine inlay on face, floral & notched diamond pattern on straight-ended rosewood board, and pearl rectangle at 15th fret. Included in sale is original purple lined hard case.
