Many moons ago, John got a call from a certain David Grisman about a 1920's Bacon Artist that John had acquired. Soon after, David Grisman took that mandolin home and added it to his personal collection of instruments. Years later he began to collaborate with the Eastman Music Company to design a line of "Dawg" mandolins. The DGM2 is a replica of that 1920s Bacon Artist that John had sold him.

This now discontinued mandolin from Eastman is absolutely stunning. An Adirondack spruce top is accented by AAA Maple back and sides bound in ivoroid. The oval sound hole allows for the natural brilliance and top end to have more body and rounded out sound. It is equipped with nickel Schaller tuners, an ebony pickguard, and a K&K Mandolin Twin Internal pickup. It is one of the best sounding and most beautiful mandolins we've seen on the market, and is one of John's personal favorites. Perfect for any fan of our good friend David Grisman, and any collector looking for the next reliable and unforgettable instrument to add to the arsenal. Comes with an original fitted hard shell case.
