E. Hammig Fretless

An early fretless banjo attributed to New York maker E. Hammig (possibly made by Buckbee). The wooden rim assembly measures 11" (slightly out of round) and has a rosewood veneer on the exterior; original brass hardware w/ large nuts and shoes; reproduction rosewood tailpiece w/ bone back. The mahogany neck has a flush-fret rosewood fingerboard w/ original Champion tuners and friction fifth; peghead shape is "very Buckbee", with rosewood overlay; ~25" scale.
