Perfectly executed conversion of an original 10-3/4" Vega Whyte Laydie banjo mandolin to five string by master luthier Doug Unger. The rim features all original metal parts including bracket band, hooks/nuts, and features the builder's engraved pearl plaque on the dowel stick. The beautiful Walnut neck has a husky authentic profile, outrageously carved heel with engraved pearl plaque on cap, engraved dogwood flower on peghead backstrap. The ebony fingerboard has a 26-1/4" scale length, with the Fairbanks family peghead inlay, and is equipped with newer geared tuners. Small re-paired chip on back of peghead edge on back.
