A mammoth cello banjo built in 1993 by Rochester maker M. E. Deprez with full resonator and rolled brass tonering. The 16-1/8" diameter walnut rim assembly has 34 hooks and nuts, four piece rim cap, maker stamped dowel stick (July, 1993), notched brass tension hoop, Oettinger style tailpiece, with thick bands of marquetry on the side of the rim and walnut resonator; some cosmetic wear and tear present on wooden and metal parts, such as dings, scuffs, a product of largess; open separation on edge of side. The 28" scale, three piece walnut neck has an ebony fingerboard, Vega style peghead shape, and is equipped with geared tuners; past peghead repair rendering snap on pearl truss rod cover; 1-3/8" wide at nut.
