High quality build from Carl Arcand, whose background in architecture aided him in his pursuits to become a full time banjo builder under his "Second Life" branding, available by custom order. This example features a thin dark stained walnut rim, with simple rolled brass tonering, and simple herringbone pattern inlaid with marquetry on the rim's exterior edge; equipped with raw brass tailpiece, hooks/nuts, and tension hoop. The 25.5" scale mahogany neck has a scooped ebony fingerboard, with 1-3/8" nut width, and paddle shaped peghead with Fleur-dis-lis inlaid in pearl. Hardly played since new, we note only light surface scratching.
