Vega's top of the line offering, this is a desirable example of a Vega Tubaphone No. 9 dating from ca. 1925. The rim assembly measures 10-3/4" across, and is totally original down to the Kershner Unique tailpiece w/ adjustable cams; some honest tarnishing is present on plating, and minor cosmetic wear. The flamed maple neck has a 26" scale length ebony fingerboard w/ finely engraved pearl inlay and long detailed heel carving; original gold plated friction tuners w/ large pearl buttons present. The instrument plays and sounds great, with just some light forward relief. Included in sale is original bump hard case.
