A stunning Orchestra Model from the well known Canadian luthier Marc Beneteau. Beneteau has been building very high quality instruments since 1974 with excellent attention to detail for the players he builds for. This orchestra model is no exception, and is one of the finer finger picking guitars we have here at the shop. Recently custom built, this guitar is built with a fine Engelmann Spruce top with stunning Quilted Maple back & sides. It has a unique 25" scale with a neck made of nice Mahogany and a Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar has nice decorative accents including a 6 ply binding, simple wood rosette, and unique MOP inlay work. It has a broad EQ balance with nice low end that you find on older instruments. The depth at the lower bout measures 4 5/16" and at the heel the body depth measures 3 7/8".
The design work of this guitar is stunning, with lightweight X bracing and exceptionally clean kerfing. A vintage pyramid inspired rosewood bridge is met with a nice thin maple bridge plate. The neck features a helpful bolt on design. The truss rod in accessible from the soundhole and functions as it should, and the guitar has a nice even low action, which measures a standard 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret on the sixth string and 5/64" on the first. The nut width is a nice wide 1 3/4", which is perfect for most finger style playing or players who prefer the spacing. The neck is a nice comfortable C profile that measures .82" thick at the first position and .96" at the tenth (before the curve of the heel).
In respectable fashion, this guitar is outfitted with a very nice LR Baggs Ibeam pickup - which can be finely tuned to your preferences by using the trim pots located inside of the guitar. Set them, and have quick and easy access to Volume and Pickup Mix accessible on the north side of the sound hole.
Cosmetically this guitar is in excellent condition, with no noticeable wear to its gloss finish. The guitar has only very very mild fret wear, none of which makes a difference to its playability. This is an excellent contender for any player looking for a unique and high grade instrument. Comes with its original TKL hard case.
