One of two known examples with this unique configuration of appointments, this is an early Bacon Grand Concert model in their FF Professional line, with positively scrumptious rare pearl inlay work in vine pattern down the fretboard/peghead overlay, with engraved pearl on the heel cap, and backstrap; Bacon made. The 11.5" diameter rim assembly features white holly construction, internal resonator rim tonering design, with gorgeous marquetry trimming the rim inside and out; a dozen f hole cutouts present on the back of resonator; equipped with Cam style No Knot. The 28" scale neck boasts a large flared heel, with long/detailed heel carving and bound fingerboard; 1-5/16" nut width; equipped with original gold plated friction tuners with pearl buttons. Some light wear on back of neck/on peghead, and some tarnish on metal parts, but a seriously fine banjo in fine condition.
