- Good Condition
The rare player's grade Bacon FF Professional model featuring some old, some new, and some original components; all things considered, this is a really fine sounding and playing banjo, with a great clear and direct tone. The wooden rim assembly measures 11" in diameter, and features the original two-part tonering that we presume is original (rolled ring, with "reverse" doughnut in front), with internal resonator hollow chamber; maple construction throughout; rebound on side edge; dowel stick stamped Bacon FF Professional; edge of rim is slightly wider than tonering, leaving an edge in some spots on exterior side, and exhibits more flame than other maple on the rim; one could infer that the exterior walls are replaced; replacement nuts, hooks, tension hoop, tail piece, neck hardware. The five piece maple neck is later with a thick 27" scale ebony fingerboard, small heel cap; steel reinforcement present; peghead overlay/inlay appear to be old, and probably came from an original Bacon; equipped with Peghed geared tuners. Finish and cosmetic wear present, and some slight glue gaps beneath board present.
