This is a converted plectrum or tenor banjo from the Weymann Company of Philadelphia, PA. It is a custom using the original tuners and fancy pearl for the peghead and fingerboard from the "donor" neck. The neck features a 23-1/4" scale and is a comfy 1-5/16" at the nut. Weymann patented the special "megaphonic" rim which is tapered outward and has the hooks and nuts recessed into the rim. The resonator, another Weymann patented term, is turned and fitted to the rim for easy removal. It is all maple construction with rosewood binding and rosewood armrest. The rim is 2-5/8 deep and fitted an archtop tonering and a calf skin.
