This is a late model five string with a 10-3/4" rim and 26" scale. The banjo is a good player with a straight, maple three piece neck. The binding appears to have been redone at some point and the work is substandard. Vega star on dowel stick. The serial numbers match on the stick and rim. The tuners are newer editions as is the tailpiece. This banjo is one of Michelle's top picks. It has a beautiful, rich versatile sound and is extremely easy to play. The aesthetic downsides have no influence on sound or playability, and serve only to make a desirable vintage banjo more affordable for us players!
