This is the next to the top of the Vega line of "Professional" banjos with gold plated metal parts including individual flanges and Oettinger tailpiece. The rim is 10-15/16" with the Tubaphone tone ring and fancy marquetry trim. The maple neck features very ornate, engraved mother of pearl inlays throughout fingerboard and peghead, and a carved heel. There is considerable wear to the gold and the pearl inlays, The armrest is a replacement. Nice player from the family of the original owner.
