With a McIntyre Pickup located directly under the bridge, this Samick 5 string resonator banjo is ornately decorated with a chrome arm rest and a "Tigertail" resonator, referring to its excellent cut of maple for the back. This banjo features an 18 hole nickel-plated brass ring, which falls in the debate as to how much snap is appropriate for a resonator banjo. What we have to say, is that this banjo has a bright, snappy tone, with a natural decay and a surprising amount of sustain. A very particular and interesting tone, developed by a company that brought us many of the instruments we know and love. A great value for an instrument this well built, and with the features provided.
