The iconic Rickenbacher "Frying-Pan" was first introduced in 1934, one of the earliest fully electric Hawaiian guitars, and was available in two variations; the A-22 (22-1/2" scale), and the A-25 (25" scale). This example hails from 1954, and includes the original bill of sale from October of that year in the case pocket. Decal on peghead reads: "RICKENBACHER, ELECTRO, LOS ANGELES". Cast aluminum body, 24 frets, horseshoe pickup w/ 1-1/4" magnet/phillips head screws. Equipped with Kluson 3-per-plate tuners. Original electronics fully intact and functioning; separate tone/volume knob. Finish is flaking in some areas, particularly the back of the neck. Reproduction Bakelite backplate.
