Chicago based firm Regal first introduced their Tenor guitar in 1925 as a solution for tenor banjo players who sought the fingering system of a tenor banjo coupled with the warm tone of a guitar. Regal produced tenor guitars from 1925-36 and claimed in 1926 that the tenor guitar not only was "Most Versatile of all String Instruments" but that "A tenor guitar doubles the joys of your vacation".
