This is a good, round back mandolin with a straight neck and solid top. There are nine wide rosewood strips and a full "skirt" that comprise the bowl. The top is spruce with herringbone trim and inlayed tortoise pickguard. There is one, unrepaired top crack behind the bridge. This instrument could be made very playable with a simple set up and crack repair. The back of the peghead has an ivoroid tag marked "MACKIE MUSIC INC. Rochester, NY"
