This is an original Martin MC-28 from 1981. These guitars were made in limited supply with only about 1,100 being produced by Martin between 1981 and 1996, and became the predecessor to the Steve Howe Special Edition. It has a spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, Venetian cutaway, and an oval sound hole. Being a slightly smaller body, it is very comfortable to play, and has a terrific sound. The guitar has lots of bass and mid range, but still has a nice sparkle to the upper register. The previous owner had a K&K Twin Spot pickup installed. The Bridge has been shaved down slightly, and there is a repaired crack in the top next to the fingerboard. The case is the original thermal plastic case, but it has some bubbling in the outer plastic. Scale length: 25.5" Nut width: 1 25/32"
