We present an exact replica of a 1939 Martin D-45 from a limited run of 91 guitars built to duplicate the original 91 D-45 guitars that were built from 1933-1942. This particular example is one of five guitars constructed by Martin using Brazilian rosewood. The King of all dreadnaughts, the D-45 features grained ivoroid binding throughout, a V-shape neck with squared-off peghead, scalloped braced top, maple bridge plate, through-the-belly bridge saddle, tortoise shell type pickguard and peghead overlay (a feature found only on '39 and '40 D-45s), abalone inlaid "C.F. MARTIN" headstock, diamond & snowflake inlaid ebony fingerboard, Schaller mini tuners with gold plating, and advanced scalloped bracing 1" from the soundhole. A brass plate is present on the neck block which states "CF Martin/Exclusive Series made for Mandolin Bros. Ltd/Custom", serial number, and individual number (63/91). Cosmetically in excellent condition excluding some finish checking on the guitar's top, back and sides. Included in the sale is the original Martin hardcase, original paperwork, and appraisal.
