Another fascinating instrument from influential West Coast builder/innovator Chris J. Knutsen. This is a six-string Spanish harp guitar, with four drone strings strung over an attached hollow arm. Knutsen's signature "convertible" design is at play here, a wingnut/bracket allowing for adjustment of the six-string side's neck angle for Spanish or Hawaiian playing. Back/sides/necks are constructed of gorgeous Koa, providing the guitar with incredible sustain. Spruce top with rope binding around sides, and rosette....inlayed pickguard. All original except for two replaced grained ivoroid buttons on bass-side tuners. Small dowels present on back of drone arm, to secure tuners.
