Kay introduced their line of "Transistorized Amplifiers" in the late 1960's, with the Model 708 "Galaxie II" sitting at the top of the line. The most notable design aspect is certainly the removable chassis, which is secured to the top of the cabinet with clasps, and can be placed up to 25 feet away from the speaker by way of a cable. Removable brass console-style legs are present giving this unit a "space-age" mid-century look. Original 12" "Special Purpose Speaker" is present, 35 watt output, two channel inputs with corresponding foot switch inputs, bass/treble eq, vibrato. Recently professionally gone-over, the Galaxie II features 11 transistors, and 8 diodes. In excellent condition, handle is original and sturdy.
