Made famous by blues musicians like Jimmy Reed and Hubert Sumlin (Howlin' Wolf), the K-161 was first introduced in 1952 and although production ceased in 1958 the "Thin-Twin" has lived on through reissues and classic blues recordings. Features a 2 3/4" single cut-a-way with flat top and back. Two lipstick tube pickups provide that vintage "umph" no-where to be found in modern guitars. Massive tortoise striped guard allowing for electronics to be stored in body. Celluloid headstock missing Kay emblem, rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlay. All hardware and control knobs are original. Expected playing wear present including checking throughout, binding shrinking, and some finish deterioration on the back of neck. Newer hardshell case included in sale.
